As the Northmen came
And pillaged his land
Laid his home to waste
And chained his hands

They took him a slave
Bound to serve for life
But he wasn't one to kneel
So he learnt to fight

Wielding swords and axes
Like he once did a cross
Wearing plated armor
Like robes worn at mass

The pagan ways were now
His new course of life
As he earned his freedom
Under Viking skies
